Open Door Mission
Volunteer Project March 16, 2011 Approximately 25 members, friends and family gathered at the Open Door Mission on March 16 to offer our volunteer services. The group met at the Timberlake Outreach Center, signed in and got their assignments. The volunteers were split into four groups. One group assisted with cleaning and organizing the pantry in the kitchen. Another group created an assembly line and made 1,000 sack lunches to be distributed the following day. The third group worked in the Timberlake Outreach Center sorting, organizing, and cleaning the "Angels from Above" center. The last group helped serve food to those going through the food line. With a large group, we could divide and conquer and accomplish a lot in a short time. This was a very eye-opening and fulfilling experience and we look forward to coordinating one or two volunteer activities for the chapter membership each year.
